The CPI (M) held a rally in Agartala on Friday in protest against the murder of its cadre, Benu Biswas, allegedly by ruling BJP supporters in Belonia on Thursday.

Hundreds of CPI (M) supporters took to the streets in the capital city and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the crime.

Condemning the incident, former CPI (M) MP Sankar Prashad Datta alleged that Benu Biswas, who was an active member of the party from Belonia in southern Tripura, was murdered by goons backed by the ruling BJP.
