Country celebrates 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose; Political leaders pay tribute

It was on this day in 1897, freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was born in Cuttack, Odisha. The day is being celebrated as Parakram Diwas.
The year-long celebrations to commemorate the 126th birth anniversary year of Netaji also started today. Netaji joined the Indian National Congress in 1921. Netaji started a newspaper called “Swaraj”. He had written a book called “The Indian Struggle”. The book covers the Indian Independence movement between 1920 and 1942. The term “Jai Hind” was coined by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
Political leaders from Northeast have remembered late freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 125th birth anniversary.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma paid homage to great freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary today.
“A charismatic leader and fearless nationalist, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose mobilised revolutionaries from across India to form the Indian National Army and shook the foundation of British Raj
I pay tributes to Netaji on his jayanti commemorated as #ParakramDiwas.” tweets CM Sarma.


Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also pays homage to great freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary today.


“Solemn tributes to the brave son of Maa Bharati, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his jayanti. May his ideals give strength to India to forge ahead towards glory in our Amrit Kaal. #ParakramDiwas #NationSalutesNetaji”, tweets Sarbananda Sonowal.

Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu also remembered the Netaji.
“A revered icon, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose shall ever remain etched in our hearts for his patriotism, valour & unparalleled spirit of nationalism.
On his birth anniversary, my solemn tribute and reverence to the great soul. His life shall inspire generations to come.”, tweets CM Khandu


Taking a pledge to serve the nation and work for its progress and development, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh paid tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.


“Humble tributes to India’s great freedom fighter, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on the occasion of Parakram Diwas. On his 126th birth anniversary, let us reaffirm our pledge to serve the nation and work for its progress and development.”, tweets N Biren Singh.
