First Published: 21st February, 2023 16:29 IST

Lashing out at the NDPP, BJP government in Nagaland, Kharge said,"NDPP, BJP government of Nagaland had promised resolution, instead what they have given to people is confusion and more confusion.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge today teared into the BJP led Centre and the Neiphiu Rio government on the Naga issue.

Addressing a rally at the Diphupar Village Public Ground, Kharge alleged that BJP (at the Centre) is not at all serious about resolving the Naga political issue.

Lashing out at the NDPP, BJP government in Nagaland, Kharge said,”NDPP, BJP government of Nagaland had promised resolution, instead what they have given to people is confusion and more confusion. Nearly 8 years down the line, this has become an empty promise.”

Accroding to Kharge the NDPP and the BJP have disowed the people.

Not only this, the Congress president went to the extent of alleging that the Narendra Modi government lacks political will to resolve the vexed Naga politcal issue.

Kharge said,”The Modi government does not have the political will to implement the agreement for a solution. There is nothing on the ground. PM Modi has also cheated the people of Nagaland and the country.”

If that was not all Kharge also launched a scathing attack on the NDPP led Nagaland government alleging that it has resorted to delaying tactics as far as a solution to the Naga political issue is concerned.

Mallikarjun Kharge alleged,”I have learnt that the civil society had demanded the implementation of the political solutions but the present state government is indulging in delaying tactics. As a matter of fact they do not want any settlement of Nagaland. BJP is not at all serious about resolving the Naga political issue.”
