Congress, BJP release candidates lists for upcoming NCHAC Election

Both the parties have fielded candidates in all the 28 constituencies of NCHAC
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress have released their lists of candidates for the 13th North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) elections in Dima Hasao district of Assam scheduled to be held on 8 January 2024.
Both the parties have fielded candidates in all the 28 constituencies of NCHAC.
Congress has fielded 4 female candidates and 19 new candidates aged between 30-35 years, while the youngest candidate is 25 years.

Voting will begin at 8 am and end at 4 pm. Voting will be held in a total of 280 polling stations.
A total of 1,41,124 people are expected to cast their votes. Of this, 70,485 are male voters and 70,639 are female voters.
The results will be declared on 12 January 2024.
The NCHAC also known as Dima Hasao Council was constituted under the provisions of the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution of India to administer the Dima Hasao district and ensure development of the hill people in the area.
Currently the Council is led by Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa.
