CM Sarma pays tribute to Suman Swargayari, meets family, handover ex-gratia amount

Assam Chief Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today visited the residence of Suman Swrgayari, martyred at the Manipur Ambush at Thekerakuchi, Baksa.

Meeting the brave martryer’s family Dr. Sarma paid his condolences to the bereaved family members.

CM Sarma met Swargayari’s wife Juri who had her 3-year-old son in her arms and handed her a cheque of Rs 50 lakhs.

He also announced that Thekerakuchoi-Kanhibari road and name it after the brave martyr.

A stadium will be constructed in the school where Suman studied- Hirimba Bodo High School.

Suman Swargayari was one of the Assam Rifles personnel killed in the dastardly ambush that took lives of an Assam Rifles  CO, his wife, son and two others at  Manipur’s Churachandpur district.

Assam health minister Keshab Mahanta was present on the cremation of the Suman Swargayari when his mortal remains were consigned to flames on 14th of November at Thekerakuchi Baksa.

Speaking to reporters on the day of the cremation Mahanta had informed that the Assam Chief Minister would visit martryr’s family and personally hand over the ex-gratia amount.
