Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today handed over 4 lakhs each to more than 1600 former cadres of NDFB at Kokrajhar. The financial aid was distributed as part of the rehabilitation package for the NDFB members who have abjured the way of the violence and joined the mainstream.
Earlier on December 5th CM Sarma had distributed Rs 4 lakhs to more than 1100 cadres of different NDFB factions in Tamulpur Baksa.
Taking to Twitter CM Sarma wrote “Handed over Rs 4 lakh each to 1,669 ex-cadres of NDFB, who had given up arms to join the mainstream, at Kokrajhar today as part of the rehabilitation package. I hope they will make judicious use of the financial assistance by engaging in income-generating activities.”
CM Sarma remembered the contribution of Bodofa Upendranarth Brahma and his dream of peaceful and developed Bodoland. Distributing the financial aid CM Sarma hoped that they would make judicious use of the “financial assistance by engaging in income-generating activities.”
CM Sarma currently in Bodoland also visited the famous Gurdwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, Dhubri today on the occasion of Martyrdom Day of the 10th Sikh Guru. He also announced Rs 5 crore for the development of Gurudwara as a spiritual tourism spot.
