CM N. Biren Chairs High-Level Meeting to Address Loktak Lake’s Preservation Challenges

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh chaired a meeting at his Secretariat on January 14 to deliberate on the present status and determination of the boundary of Loktak Lake.

Acknowledging Loktak Lake’s immense ecological, cultural, and economic significance for the state and the country, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of taking proactive measures to preserve its unique ecosystem.

Taking to X, CM N Biren wrote, “Deliberated on the ongoing initiatives aimed at safeguarding the lake’s environment and addressing challenges such as encroachments and pollution. Loktak Lake holds immense ecological, cultural, and economic significance for our state and country and we must take proactive measures to preserve its unique ecosystem while ensuring its sustainable management.”
