Class 12 student found dead in Guwahati apartment

A student of class 12 of a private school in Guwahati was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside his room in an apartment today. It has been suspected to be a suicide case.

The incident has been reported from Chandan Nagar, located in the Beltola area of Guwahati.

The student was living alone under the supervision of a caretaker in the apartment.

The matter came to light after the caretaker knocked on the door of his room multiple times to check on him this morning, but received no response, which made him suspicious. Later, he along with the security guard of the apartment broke open the door and found the student hanging from the ceiling fan.

Later, on being informed about the incident, a team of Dispur Police rushed to the incident site to conduct an investigation.

It has also been reported that a suicide note was found by police from his room. However it is yet to ascertain the cause of death.

The body has been sent to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for postmortem and an investigation is underway.
