The price hike in fuel has finally caught up to the public transport system as bus fares all over Assam are set to receive a price hike.

Bus fares are set to receive a 50 percent hike from October 3 onwards as per an announcement made by the All Assam Motor Transport Association(AAMTA).

Now the minimum fare for travelling in a Guwahati city bus would be 7 rupees 50 paise. Also, mini taxis in Guwahati will have a minimum fare of 15 rupees.
