Following the raid on the residence of two former Arunachal Pradesh chief ministers Gegong Apang and Nabam Tuki, the former, reacting positively on the CBI raid, said that the CBI should do their duty and also directed his family members including security personnel to not refrain if the CBI conducts such raid in future again.

The CBI had raided the residence of Nabam Tuki and Gegong Apang on September 3.

According to highly placed sources, a CBI team led by 2 DSPs from Guwahati raided the residences of Nabam Tuki and Gegong Apang with assistance from local police.

A number of documents were reportedly seized from the residences of both Tuki and Apang.

Northeast Live has got hold of a copy of the CBI FIR which alleges that Nabam Tuki had arbitrarily awarded the contract for construction of a district sports complex at Papum Pare as the then PWD and Urban Development Minister to his younger brother Nabam Tagam with the aid and involvement of the then chief minister Gegong Apang in gross violation of the prescribed rules and procedures.

The FIR also mentions that the then chief minister Gegong Apang abused his official position to give directions to award the construction work of the District Sports Complex to the younger brother of Nabam Tuki following the recommendation from Tuki.

While there has been no official confirmation on any other charges against the duo, it is to be noted here that Arunachal Pradesh has been in the news in the past for a PWD road scam and the infamous multi-crore PDS scam.
