The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Assam has further risen to 13 with eight new cases being reported a whille ago.
All these persons attended Tablighi Jamat at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi and returned to Assam.
Earlier in the day, 4 more people, three from Jagiroad and one from Nalbari had tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.
“Alert ~ 8 more #COVID19 positive cases in Assam, taking the total to 13. All eight new cases are of people who also participated in #TablighiJamaat congregation at #NizamuddinMarkaz. Update at 9 pm / April 1,” Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.

A 52-year old man from Badarpur in South Assam’s Karimganj district was the first Coronavirus patient in the state. He is currently being treated at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
It may be mentioned that all the 13 people from Assam who have tested positive had attended the religious congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi.
