Body found in Silchar Medical College and Hospital premises

Though police have found a piece of paper in the pocket of the dead person’s shirt with a name on it, police is hoping someone will identify the body

A body of an unidentified man was found in front of the gynaecology department of the Silchar Medical College and Hospital today.

But police informed that they found a piece of paper on the body that had the name of one Karthik Roy, 25. and the father’s name as Sudesh Roy. They have, however, asked people to come and identify the body.

A police source said, “After we received the body and put it in the morgue, we checked his pockets, there we recovered a piece of paper from where we came to know that the name of the deceased is Karthik Roy and he is the son of Sudesh Roy.”

The body has been kept in the morgue. Police are hoping that someone will identify the body.

The deceased’s body is being held at the Medical College’s mortuary under the supervision of Ghungur Police. If no one comes forward within 72 hours, the funeral proceedings will be carried out in accordance with the regulations set by Silchar Medical College and Hospital, the police said.
