An IPFT delegation headed by its supremo NC Debbarma met BJP National Secretary Ram Madhav at the State Guest House in capital Agartala.
The IPFT, an ally of the ruling BJP in the north-eastern state of Tripura assured the national secretary of full support to the government.
The assurance comes as a significant development keeping in view of the recent strife between the BJP and IPFT over Panchayat by-elections.
An IPFT leader who was part of the party delegation said that the meeting was a positive one as the BJP leader was happy with the way the coalition government is running in the state.
He further said that Ram Madhav also proposed better coordination committee between the two partners and advised the IPFT delegation of mitigating petty difference by themselves.
Discussions were also held involving preparations for the Lok Sabha elections in Tripura.
However, the two allies will meet in a friendly contest against each other in the coming Panchayat by-election on September 30.
The meeting also stressed on strengthening the booth committees ahead of the elections.
