Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has tendered an apology before the nation and the people of Assam in particular after controversy erupted following the statement of a Patanjali yoga instructor Satinath Barale concerning Vaishnav saint Srimanta Sankardev.
Talking about the issue, Baba Ramdev said that Barale has been dismissed from service with immediate effect and said that Srimanta Sankardev is among the biggest saint-scholars of India.
The yoga guru said that he was hurt by the remarks and asserted that Patanjali would never tolerate such objectionable statements made by any of its employees.
Patanjali yoga instructor Satinath Barale had on September 28 stated that Srimanta Sankardev is not a saint and that there is nothing spiritual about institution of Naamghars in Assam.
It is to be noted here that several FIRs have been filed at police stations across Assam against Barale for his statements.
