As a part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations and a gesture to enhance the awareness of health and unity among diversity, the ‘Met Recreation Club’ an allied club of Regional Meteorological Centre(RMC), Guwahati organized ‘Run for Unity and Health’ in Guwahati today.
The event started with paying homage to General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Defence Staff, and other officials who lost their lives in the Tamil Nadu chopper mishap. Working and retired weather officials along with their families participated in the marathon which started from RMC Guwahati.
K.N. Mohan, Head of RMC Guwahati flagged off the marathon. Meanwhile, eminent scientist Dr. Sanjay O’Neill Shaw welcomed and appreciated all the participants for actively taking part in the event. The winning trophy was awarded to Dr. Himadri Baishya to Sonu Kumar and Debajit Gogoi who finisher the first and second respectively.
