The Avdesh Yadav murder case in Guwahati took a new turn on Monday after the Assam Police nabbed the perpetrator of the crime. Assam Police personnel apprehended the alleged murderer Pankaj Kumar from Bihar.

Pankaj Kumar had allegedly come from Bihar to kill Avdesh Yadav in Guwahati’s Chatribari area on February 21.

It is learnt that the accused had committed the crime under the directives of a person identified as W. Yadav who remains to be underground. He is suspected to be in Nepal.

It may be mentioned here that 40-yr-old Guwahati-based businessman Avdesh Yadav was shot on the night of February 21 outside his residential apartment while he was on his way home. He was declared dead at the Marwari Maternity Hospital. 

As per locals, Avdesh was a well-known entrepreneur who used to deal with grocery and textile.

His business was mainly between Imphal and Guwahati.

He also had at least four shops at Fancy Bazar’s Five Star Market complex.
