The security agencies in Assam arrested the accomplice of the serial killer Bikash Das in connection with the twin murders in running trains in the state.
While Bikash Das was arrested yesterday just moments before he was about to board the Dibrugarh-Jhanjha express in New Tinsukia Railway station, his accomplice Bipin Pandey, who has been alleged to be involved with him in both the murders, has been arrested from the New Dibrugarh Railway Station just after he got down from the Tinsukia-Bengaluru Express.
The security agencies have cracked the twin murder case in the state with the police arresting both the culprits and with Bikash Das confessing that he killed both the women in the moving trains.
Informing this, RPF Commandant BS Meena had said that the mobile phone and the rail ticket of the 21-year-old girl whose body was found in the toilet of Dibrugarh-Rangia express were recovered from Das’ possession along with the ornaments of the woman who was found brutally murdered aboard the Avadh Assam express at Mariani junction on Wednesday.
Meena revealed that the both Das and Pandey raped the women. He also said that Das was planning to make a third attempt yesterday and was arrested when he was trying to board the Dibrugarh-Jhanjha express at Tinsukia Railway station. Das is a hardcore criminal and a habitual offender, the authorities revealed.
The twin murders had shocked the entire state of Assam. While a 21-year-old girl was found murdered in the toilet of Dibrugarh-Rangia express on Tuesday, another woman was found murdered in a similar fashion in the toilet of the Avadh Assam express. Both the woman brutally assaulted and were strangulated to death later.
