In a big news for the music lovers of the region, the Assam state government has purchased the house of late legendary singer Dr Bhupen Hazarika at Tollygunj in Kolkata
In a big news for the music lovers of the region, the Assam state government has purchased the house of late legendary singer Dr Bhupen Hazarika at Tollygunj in Kolkata for the purpose of conservation.
The residence has been purchased for a sum of 1 crore and 65 lakh from the house’s previous owner Sushil Kumar Dangi. Reports state that the deal had been finalised about a month ago.
The latest move by the Assam government has brought in cheers for music lovers of Assam who have been long demanding for the preservation of the house where Hazarika is said to have worked on several of his immortal works, that include songs and films alike.
