A 60-year-old man was killed by a tiger, and his dismembered remains were found near the boundary of the tea garden, adjacent to the Kamakhya Reserve Forest in Assam’s Kaliabor on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Basudev Karmakar, aged 60, had been missing since Saturday.

Basudev Karmakar was reportedly attacked by the tiger when he went to collect grass to feed his cattle on Saturday.

However, when he didn’t return by evening, villagers and forest officials launched a search operation at night, which was halted due to darkness and resumed the next morning.

Following the search operation, on Sunday morning, his body was found in Kaliabor Tea Estate, partially eaten.

As per inputs, the same tiger reportedly attacked another woman in the same area on Saturday.

The incident has sparked public outrage, with tea garden workers and local organisations demanding immediate action.
