The Assam Rifles seized drugs worth around Rs 30 lakh in Manipur on Saturday.

According to the office of the Inspector General of Assam Rifles, South Sector, the Tengnoupal Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR, South seized a huge cache of contraband drugs, worth Rs 29.88 lakh from Khudenthabi.

During a routine check, the team of Tengnoupal battalion spotted a suspicious woman in an auto rickshaw.

She was then stopped at Permanent Vehicle Check Post in Khudengthabi by the Mahila Riflemen of Tengnoupal Battalion.

During checking, 9960 WIY tablets were recovered concealed inside a pillow which the woman was carrying.

The woman has been identified as Nemneilhing Baite, a resident of Cananphai village.

Thereafter, the seized items and the apprehended person were handed over to NAB, Imphal.
