In an effort to ensure adherence to Suspension of Operation ground rules by signatory underground insurgent cadres, Churachandpur Battalion of Assam Rifles carried out inspections of SoO camps jointly with the district police in Sangaikot, Churachandpur and Henglep subdivisions on Saturday.

In addition to checking attendance of the SoO signatory insurgent cadres inside the designated camps, sensitization programs on COVID-19 precautions and vaccination drives were also held. Various details of the cadres were also collected for the preparation of Aadhar cards.

Moreover, infrastructure requirements of the SoO camps were also noted for appropriate renovations by DRDA.

Furthermore, recent violations of SoO ground rules by few SoO groups were also discussed and the cadres were advised to strictly follow the guidelines and not indulge in any illegal or prohibited activities.

It needs to be mentioned here that, earlier this week, Manipur DGP LM Khaute had issued an order to the district police superintendents to ensure that the SoO cadres don’t indulge in any unlawful activities prohibited under the SoO agreements and initiate legal actions against all violators including civil society members.
