The intruders jumped near the MPs seat in Lok Sabha causing panic, fear and confusion inside the House as they popped smoke cans
Assam MP Dilip Saikia sustained injuries after one of the intruders jumped near his seat in the Lok Sabha with smoke canisters.
The intruders identified as Sagar Sharma and D Manoranjan popped yellow smoke canisters inside the Lok Sabha this afternoon resulting in scare and chaos inside the house.
Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, the Mangaldai MP said, “Suddenly two miscreants jumped into the House just behind me from the visitor’s gallery. I was so shocked at the moment that I yelled at the miscreants and attempted to apprehend him. Other MPs also assisted me to apprehend him. Both of the intruders had canisters in their hands. These canisters were emitting smoke. One of them was attempting to run. I sustained nail scratch injuries from one of the miscreants on my hand during the scuffle.”
The MPs present in the Lower House were prompt enough to nab the intruders and beat them up before being taken into custody by the security personnel posted in Parliament.
The incident happened when members were raising matters of urgent public importance and BJP MP Khagen Murmu was raising his issue during the Zero Hour. BJP Rajendra Agrawal was in the chair when the incident occurred.
Sagar and Manoranjan were seated in the Lok Sabha’s visitors’ gallery. They got the passes to enter Lok Sabha on the requests made by BJP MP from Mysore, Pratap Simha’s office.
