Assam: Morigaon DC, SP sent to quarantine after they came in contact with COVID-19 patient

Morigaon DC Rituraj Bora, SP Swapnaneel Deka who came in contact with two COVID-19 positive cases, have been instructed to go for quarantine at their respective quarters for 14 days.

Briefing newspersons, Assam Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that contact history of the DC and SP with the now turned positive person is more than 14 days old. As per protocol, their test samples have been collected and results are awaited.

It may be mentioned that two more persons in Assam tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday.

Both the persons who are residents of Morigaon district of the state are secondary contacts of Markaz event attendees at Nizamuddin in Delhi last month. With this the total number of positive cases in the State climbed to 34.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases in the State is 24, while 9 persons have recovered so far and one succumbed to the virus.
