Assam: Martyred jawan Haradhan Rai laid to rest with full state honours

Havildar Haradhan Rai who made the supreme sacrifice on November 13 along the Line of Control (LoC) was laid to rest in his native village Medhipara Futkibari under Dhubri district on Monday.
The last rites of the jawan was performed with full military honours. The funeral pyre was lit by the soldier’s wife, Bakul Roy along with their one-and-a-half-year-old son in presence of family members and hundreds of people, including villagers, Army, police and district officials on the bank of the river Gauranga.
The crowd gathered for the cremation chanted, ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, ‘Pakistan Murdabad’, ‘Long live Hardhan Ray’ etc.

The mortal remains of martyred Indian Army Havildar Haradhan Chandra Ray reached Guwahati on Sunday evening.
Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal along with the Army and Assam Police officials paid tributes to the slain soldier at the 151 Army Base Hospital at Basistha in Guwahati.
Martyred Haradhan Rai of the Regiment of Artillery was posted in the Uri sector. He was among the four Indian Army personnel who lost their lives in the unprovoked firing by the Pakistani Army.
