Assam man goes for a bath in river, slips and drowns

The dead body of the male said to be around 45 years old, is yet to be identified

In an unfortunate incident, a man who had gone to take a bath in the river in the Kala Mati area under Umrangso, Dima Hasao district of Assam died after he slipped in the slippery mud, lost control, and fell into the river, and drowned. The man who is yet to be identified had gone to the river for a bath this Friday morning.
The body was found at the coal quarry in Kala Mati.
The body was first spotted by locals who immediately informed authorities.
Later, police arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem. The real cause of the man’s death is yet to be established. Further investigation is on.
