Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi has issued a notification to impose the Assam COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 under the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897.
According to the Regulation, any individual who violates the directive issued by the Centre and the state government to control the spread of the disease will face serious legal action. This was disclosed by senior lawyer Bijan Mahajan.
Under the provisions of this Regulation, violators may face up to 6 months of imprisonment and penalty if they are found flouting the laid down guidelines.
