Assam: Girl student attacked while on way to college

The victim girl was rushed to a hospital in Morigaon and is currently undergoing treatment
In a shocking incident, a female college student was allegedly attacked with a sharp weapon by two unidentified bike borne men in Assam’s Morigaon on Thursday morning.
The incident took place at Dalbari area in the district. The victim girl has been identified as Fariya Rahman, a first year higher secondary student at Gyandeep Senior Secondary College.
As per inputs, the incident happened when the victim was on her way to college in an e-rickshaw.
Midway during the trip, the e-rickshaw was abruptly stopped by two unidentified people, who then attacked the girl with sharp weapon.
The duo fled the scene after committing the crime.
Following the incident, Fariya sustained injuries to her neck and shoulder.
The victim girl was rushed to a hospital in Morigaon and is currently undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, local police have reached the hospital and have initiated an investigation into the matter.
The exact motive behind the attack is yet to be established.
