Assam floods: Over 1,19,830 people in 20 districts affected

The flood situation in Assam continues to worsen, unleashing unprecedented havoc across the state.
According to the latest report from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), over 1,19,830 individuals in 20 districts have been affected in last 24 years.
The devastating floods have left a trail of destruction in the affected districts of Bajali, Baksa, Barpeta, Biswanath, Chirang, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Hojai, Kamrup, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Nalbari, Sonitpur, Tamulpur, Udalguri, and Kamrup (M).
At least 780 villages have been affected by the deluge, as per the ASDMA data.
Three rivers are flowing above the danger mark. The Beki River at Road Bridge, Pagladiya River at Nt Road Crossing, and Puthimari River at NH Road Crossing have overflowed their banks.
10 591.85 hectares of crop area have been destroyed by flood waters.
1,07,479 animals have been affected.
2,091 relief camps have been set up across the affected areas to offer shelter, food, and medical assistance to those displaced by the floods.
As part of the relief efforts, 46.17 metric tons of rice, 8.37 metric tons of dal (lentils), 2.52 metric tons of salt, and 186.98 litres of mustard oil have been provided to those affected.
