Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal extended his greetings on the occasion of Children’s day on Saturday.

Taking to Twitter, Sarbananda Sonowal wrote, “Today’s children are tomorrow’s future.

“My best wishes and greetings to my young friends on #ChildrensDay. Let us together build a strong and prosperous Assam that provides the best for our children,” the Chief Minister added.

Every year, since 1964, November 14 is celebrated as Children’s day.

The day marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, fondly remembered as Chacha Nehru. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was India’s first Prime Minister. His love for children earned him the title “Chacha Nehru”.

His birth anniversary is celebrated as Children’s Day in the country as a tribute to his contribution towards the development of the nation and his love for children.
