Assam CM invites PM Modi to state to inaugurate and lay foundation of various development projects

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and invited him to visit the state to inaugurate and lay the foundations of various development projects.
CM Sarma invited PM Modi to lay the foundation stones of the Kamakhya Corridor project and Sivasagar Medical College and inaugurate the world’s tallest statue of Assam’s legendary Bir Lachit Barphukon being constructed at Hollongapar in Jorhat, and the Tinsukia Medical College and Hospital.
The way leading to the much popular and much revered Kamakhya temple in Guwahati and the entire area around the temple awaits a mega facelift to improve the pilgrimage experience and promote tourism.

The Bir Lachit Barphukon statue is being built at Hollongapar in Jorhat at a cost of Rs 175 crore as Assam’s tribute to the famous General whose heroism liberated the state from Mughal hands.
The Tinsukia Medical College and Hospital is being constructed on a plot of land measuring 38.50 acres at a cost of Rs 614.93 crore to boost the medical and healthcare service in the state.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Sarma briefed PM Modi on the ongoing pro-people activities in the state and sought his counsel on organizing the Assam Business Summit in 2024.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state government intends to organize the Assam Business Summit in 2024 in order to establish it as a platform for attracting private investments and accelerating the state’s economic growth.
