Putting all speculations to rest, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday reshuffled the Assam cabinet, adding new faces to head the Labour & Tea Tribes Welfare and PWD.
Finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was re-allocated the Education portfolio handled by Siddhartha Bhattacharya.
Newly inducted, Mahmora MLA Jogen Mohan will be in charge of Power and PWD (State), whereas, Tinsukia MLA Sanjoy Kishan got the Labour & Employment and Tea Tribes Welfare portfolio.
Jogen Mohan and Sanjay Kishan were administered oath of office at the Raj Bhawan by Governor Jagdish Mukhi today.
On the other hand, Health & Family Welfare minister Pijush Hazarika got charge of Urban Development including Town & Country Planning (Independent), while Bhabesh Kalita got charge of Education (Assisting Cabinet Minister as MoS).
