Assam: Boat capsizes in Kamrup’s Nagarbera during a boat race

SDRF troopers swung into action and managed to bring all the rowers to safety
A major tradegy was averted in Assam’s Kamrup district today after a boat capsized during a traditional boat race but prompt action by SDRF personnel saved the lives of all the players.
The incident took place in Nagarbera during the boat race. As per eyewitnesses, two boats were racing towards the finish line, however one of the boats capsized with the players onboard in the Joljoli river.
Spectators soon raised an alarm prompting the organisers to swing into action.
The players soon tried to swim to safety. But alert SDRF troopers deployed in view of the boat race event, safely rescued all the rowers.
The reason behind the capsize of the boat is yet to be ascertained.
