The Asom Chah Mazdoor Sangha President Paban Singh Ghatowar has called for a special emergency meeting at the Union Headquarters in dibrugarh over reports of selling of 12 tea gardens by the McLeod Russel India Limited.
Informing Northeast Live exclusively, the ACMS President has expressed grave concern over the reports of the world’s largest and leading tea company McLeod Russel India Limited selling off its 12 tea gardens in Eastern Assam’s Tinsukia and Dibrugarh districts.
According to reports, this huge step was taken by the McLeod Russel India Limited without any kind of information to the Assam Government and no procedures were being followed. The mandatory revenue was also not paid.
