In a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh, 19-year-old Victoria Taying has been crowned the second runner-up at the prestigious Miss Transqueen India 2023 pageant. The event, held on April 7th in Gurgaon, saw the participation of transwomen from across the country. Victoria also won the award for the best ramp walk.
Victoria’s win marks a significant milestone for Arunachal Pradesh, as she becomes the first transwoman from the state to win a beauty pageant. Her achievements in the pageant world have been remarkable, having previously won the titles of Miss Trans Global India 2020 and Miss Super Glam of India 2020. Additionally, she was the first runner-up in the Miss Rainbow Pride of India 2022 competition.
Prior to pursuing her passion for pageantry, Victoria completed a diploma in polytechnic from Rajiv Gandhi Govt Polytechnic College in Itanagar. She then underwent a gender transition before moving to Delhi, where she worked as a front office associate at a 5-star hotel. She is currently employed at The Lalit Hotel in Delhi.
The Miss Transqueen India pageant was founded single-handedly by Reena Rai in 2016. Rai is an LGBTQIA+ Activist, TedxSpeaker, and entrepreneur.
