Arunachal Pradesh: Workers union alleges illegal appointments in PHED & WS department

The union has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the state government, urging them to cancel all recent appointments made in March.

The All Arunachal Pradesh Public Health Engineering and Water Supply Workers’ Union today leveled a serious allegation of illegal appointments within the Changlang and Longding PHED & WS sub-divisions.

Union president, Tadar Dowa alleged that more than 17 casual workers have been illegally appointed under the aforementioned department.

The union has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the state government, urging them to cancel all recent appointments made in March.

Additionally, the union has also cautioned that they would launch a sit-in agitation from May 13 and cut-off all water supply across the state as a mark of their protest.

The union further urged the Chief Secretary to initiate legal action against the individual responsible for the irregularities.

President of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh from Longding District Unit, Panai Khusumdam, also alleged that the illegal appointees are not locals and have prior experience in the PHED & WS department.
The union filed a written complaint with the Itanagar Special Investigation Cell Superintendent of Police on Monday (May 6).
