In a successful counter insurgency operation, Army personnel from 14 Rajput Regiment and Arunachal Pradesh Police, in a joint operation busted an NSCN (K – YA) training camp at the 22 Mile area inside Namdapha National Park in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Arms and ammunition including explosives were recovered from the camp during the operation. The seizure includes one AK – 47 rifle, 50 rounds of live ammunition, magazines, and detonators beside others. Officials informed that the camp belonged to the NSCN (K – YA) and it was used as a training facility having the capacity to shelter 30 to 40 cadres.

Huge quantity of dry rations and other camp materials were also recovered from the camp. Officials added that the NSCN (K – YA) are trying hard to consolidate its position in the Tirap – Changlang – Longding belt for quite some time. Meanwhile follow up search operations are underway.
