Arunachal Pradesh: Inauguration of Kubithu Military Garrison

Gen. Rawat who was the Commanding Officer of the unit shared a very cordial relation with the local people in the area.

It indeed is a historic day for Arunachal Pradesh and the nation. The stage is set for the inauguration of the Kibithu Military Garrison today, located close to the Indo-China border in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Now what makes this garrison so important? Well, apart from its strategic location, it also happens to be the post where Late General Bipin Rawat had once commanded the 5/11 Gorkha Rifles during his illustrious and distinguished military career spanning over a period of 44 years.

Gen. Rawat who was the Commanding Officer of the unit shared a very cordial relation with the local people in the area.

Arunachal Governor B. D. Mishra will inaugurate the Gen. Bipit Rawat Memorial Gate in a short while from now.

Whereas, Chief Minister Pema Khandu will be dedicating the Kibithu – Walong Road after Gen. Rawat and a mural will be unveiled by GOC-in-C of Eastern Command Lt. Gen. Rana Pratap Kalita and Ms. Tarini, daughter of late Gen. Rawat.
