The politics in Arunachal Pradesh is heating up with the state unit of National Peoples Party reacting sharply to the BJP’s decision to go solo in the 2019 general elections terming the move as a wrong one.

The state NPP president Gicho Kabak expressed shock and unhappiness over the move stating that both the NEDA partners should go hand in hand like in Meghalaya.

The move of the BJP assumes significance considering the fact that as many as 7 PPA MLAs had joined the NPP recently.

Meanwhile, the NPP has called for a crucial party meet today to discuss on the future course of action. As per reports, the NPP leaders are also likely to meet Chief Minister Pema Khandu after the party meeting.

Earlier, the State BJP had asserted that it will not enter into any pre or post poll alliance with any party in the 2019 elections.

In a declaration signed by senior state BJP leaders and party office bearers, the BJP asserted that it will contest all the 60 assembly seats in 2019 and not enter into any alliance with any party be it a pre-poll alliance or post-poll alliance.
