Mentally ill man disappears during journey from Assam to Arunachal Pradesh
Aran Waghe, a 41-year-old resident of Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh has been missing for about a week now now. He went missing on September 9 from Charidwar, Assam.
According to his younger brother, Tazap Waghe Bakha, Aran left Phuloguri Charidwar, Assam, for Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, for his medical treatment. Aran, who was diagnosed with mental illness, was to visit his sister in Itanagar for the treatment.
“He is my elder brother. He lives in Sonitpur District of Assam. My elder sister who lives in Itanagar thought of calling Aran to stay with her so that she could look after his health and get him the necessary treatment. He started his journey from Chariduar to Balipara and then to Itanagar. But he did not reach Itanagar. He is missing,” Tazap said.
Tazap Waghe Bakha mentioned the efforts of Assam Police in trying to locate Aran. “We went to Biswanath Chariali and Lakhimpur police stations (in Assam) and circulated his photos and the necessary information. Assam police have been giving us full support in trying to trace our brother.”
“It’s been seven days, and our mother is not taking even a single drop of water, not even having food since my brother was reported missing. We cannot sleep or eat,” a worried Tazap said.
