They have submitted their resignation to party president Likha Tagu, citing moral grounds.
Soon, after resigning from the party, they joined the Congress in a ceremony held at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan in Itanagar in the presence of State Congress general secretary Kon Jirjo.
Speaking to the media, they stated that they have joined the Congress to extend support to former Chief Minister and party president Nabam Tuki, who is contesting for Arunachal Pradesh West constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
They said, “If any party can save Arunachal Pradesh, then it is Congress. Since Nabam Tuki is contesting the Lok Sabha election, we need to make sure that he wins, so that he can raise the problems faced by the people of the state in the parliament as an MP.”
“Nabam Tuki is the most experienced and senior politician of Arunachal Pradesh. During his tenure as Chief Minister, the state has witnessed a remarkable development. He is also free of corruption. It is high time that people of the state come together and extend support to him,” they added.
