Arunachal Govt Allocates Rs 269.97 Cr For 3,097 MW Etalin Hydroelectric Project In Dibang Valley, One of the Largest Hydropower Projects of India

Etalin Hydroelectric Project Arunachal: CM handed over the cheque to Dy Commissioner of Anini, marking crucial progress for 3097 MW project.

In a significant step towards energy infrastructure development, the Arunachal Pradesh government has allocated Rs 269.97 crore for the construction of the Etalin Hydroelectric Project in Dibang Valley. Chief Minister Pema Khandu handed over the cheque to the Deputy Commissioner of Anini, marking crucial progress for the 3097 MW project, which is set to be one of the largest hydropower ventures in India.

Taking to social media, CM Khandu expressed gratitude to Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta, SJVN CMD RK Chaudhury, and officials from Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) and the Government of India for their ongoing support in facilitating the project.

He also extended heartfelt appreciation to the local Mishmi community, whose cooperation has been vital in advancing the project. CM Khandu noted that their support is key to realising Arunachal Pradesh’s vision of leveraging its vast hydropower potential to drive long-term sustainable development and prosperity.

“Happy to hand over a cheque of Rs 269.97 crore to the Deputy Commissioner, Anini… This marks a significant step forward in the construction of the 3097 MW Etalin Hydroelectric Project,” the Chief Minister wrote on X.

The Etalin project, once completed, is expected to significantly boost India’s renewable energy capacity and transform Arunachal Pradesh into a powerhouse of clean energy, contributing to national energy security and regional growth.
