The All Arunachal Pradesh Hawkers and Street Vendors Federation expressed concern over the repeated demands to leave their vending zones made by the Arunachal Motor Transport Federation.
Roger Nabam, General Secretary of the Street Vendors Federation said that the Motor Transport Union has time and again complained for the replacement of the vending zones in Ganga market which is being run by women.
Mr. Nabam also informed that the Transport Union had earlier filed an FIR against the Vendors Federation which led to a scuffle between the women vendors and police personnel.
Furthermore, the issue has been forwarded to the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary of the State; a copy of which is also being forwarded to the PMO and the Home Ministry.
The General Secretary is of the opinion that the District Commissioner has no say in the matter as the vending zone was set up only after conducting several surveys under legal purview.
