Arunachal gets a new district-Keyi Panyor

With the creation of the Bichom district, Arunachal Pradesh will have 28 districts.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today inaugurated the newly created district, Keyi Panyor at its headquarters in Yachuli.
The Keyi Panyor district has been created by bifurcating Lower Subansiri district with Yachuli as the headquarters.
Eariler in February the State Assembly had passed a bill approving the creation of Keyi Panyor and Bichom district.
The Bichom district will be carved out from East Kameng and West Kameng with Napangphung as its headquarters.
With the creation of the Bichom district, Arunachal Pradesh will have 28 districts.
Earlier, CM Khandu said, “The creation of two new districts is in the interest of better administration & fostering development. This will further ensure good governance & efficient delivery of government services & schemes. I thank all the members of Assembly for their unanimous support in emabling the smooth passage of this bill.”
