Arunachal actor Millo Sunka wins ‘Best Actress Award’ at Critics’ Choice Awards

Proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh. Millo Sunka from the state has won the ‘Best Actress Award’ at the Critics’ Choice Awards held in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Sunka has recieved the award for her performance in the 28-minute short film ‘Nocturnal Burger’ by filmmaker Reema Maya.

Meanwhile, Reema Maya has received best director award for the film.

Who is Millo Sunka?

Millo Sunka hails from Hapoli in the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Sunka rose to fame in 2023 after she won the coveted Prisma Rome International Film Award for Best performer (Female) for her outstanding performance in ‘Nocturnal Burger. With this she became the first actor from Arunachal Pradesh to receive an International award.

Additionally, Millo Sunka has appeared in the Hindi web series “The Last Hour”.

She has also played the role of Hayna in Netflix’s ‘Axone’ and has been featured in music videos and ad campaigns for several brands.

12th Fail bagged the ‘Best Feature Film’ and lead actor Vikrant Massey bagged the ‘Best Actor’ for feature film at the Critics’ Choice Awards.
Shefali Shah received ‘Best Actress Award’ for feature film- ‘Three of Us’.
The awards are divided into feature film, web series and short film nominations, each with sub-categories across all languages and platforms.

Congratulating Sunka, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein took to X and wrote, “Heartiest congratulations to Millo Sunka on winning the ‘Best Actress Award’ at the Critics’ Choice Awards held in Mumbai for her outstanding performance in the 28-minute short film ‘Nocturnal Burger’ directed by filmmaker Reema Maya. I wish Sunka all the very best in her future endeavors. May she continue to bring glory to our State. Also, I’m confident that her achievement will inspire our youths to follow their respective dreams and work hard towards fulfilling it.”
