An army patrol team has gone missing in Arunachal Pradesh’s Kameng sector after being hit by an avalanche in a high-altitude area.

At least seven personnel are said to be trapped after the avalanche hit the high-altitude area on Sunday.

Search and rescue operations are underway with specialised teams being airlifted to assist in the operations, the army said in a statement.

It has been learnt that the area has been witnessing inclement weather with heavy snowfall since the last few days.
