The All Nyishi Students Union submitted a representation to Arunachal Pradesh Governor B.D. Mishra to immediately stop the Indian Air Force drill exercises at Dollungmukh.
The students body members met the Governor yesterday and put forth the representation for the stopping of drill exercises and the re-location of the drilling exercise area somewhere away from human habitation.
The students body also demanded for the posting of an administrative officer of the rank of an extra assistant commissioner or a sub-divisional officer in Dollungmukh.
It is to be mentioned that Dollungmukh has long been in a controversy over side effects being suffered by local residents due to the occasional drill exercises by the Air Force in the area.
A few deliberations have already been made in this regard. A memorandum had also been submitted to the Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. But so far no conclusive action has been taken in this regard.
