The ANTAM has actively sought to address these pressing issues, striving to maintain a steady supply of essential goods and services to the state capital.

The All Naga Traders Association Manipur (ANTAM) has urgently called for immediate government action to address the rising incidents of illegal tax collection and harassment faced by truckers delivering essential goods to Imphal. The association expressed grave concerns over unlawful practices, particularly along the Kangpokpi-Imphal route.

ANTAM also stated that despite numerous complaints from affected parties, such illegal activities continue unchecked, causing significant distress within the trading community. The ANTAM has noted that the Committee of Tribal Unity or CoTU persists in demanding unauthorized fees at checkpoints, targeting both trucks carrying goods, and those returning empty after offloading, all under the guise of soliciting donations.

The ANTAM has actively sought to address these pressing issues, striving to maintain a steady supply of essential goods and services to the state capital.

It further stated that if the state government fails to respond to this urgent situation, ANTAM will have no choice but to implement an indefinite economic blockade on National Highway No. 2 which runs from Senapati to Imphal, effective from midnight of October 8.

The association also strongly urged the state government to take immediate action to eradicate such illegal practices and ensure the safety and security of the truckers and the business community.
