Northeast’s star power will be unleashed at the upcoming 68th Filmfare Awards 2023. Two actors from the region – Andrea Kevichusa of Nagaland and Paalin Kabak from Arunachal Pradesh have been nominated for this year’s Filmfare Awards.

Andrea also known as Carol Andrea, is nominated in the Best Debut Female category for her exceptional performance in the film ‘Anek.’ A popular model since 2016 when she was just 15 and had just entered the world of modelling, Andrea stepped into Bollywood with Anubhav Sinha’s Anek and shared screen space with Ayushmaan Khurana. She played the role of a boxer from northeast.
As a model, Andrea has worked for designers like Sabyasachi Mukherjee. She also worked for Katrina Kaif’s cosmetic line Kay Beauty.

Andrea would be competing with Khushali Kumar for Dhoka: Round D Corner, Manushi Chhillar for Samrat Prithviraj, and Prajakta Koli for (Jugjugg Jeeyo) for the Filmfare award.

Paalin Kabak is nominated in the ‘Best Debut Male’ category for his performance in the film ‘Bhediya.’ Kabak, who hails from Itanagar and currently resides in Mumbai, got noticed instantly for his role as Varun Dhawan’s friend in the movie.

Paalin is nominated alongside Abhay Mishra for Doctor G, Ankush Gedam for Jhund, and Shantanu Maheshwari for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Along with Andrea and Paalin, Assam filmmaker Assam, Suman Adhikary has been co-nominated in two categories for the 68th Filmfare Awards. Adhikary has been nominated along with Akshat Ghildiyal in the Best Story category for the Rajkumar Rao-Bhumi Pednekar starrer ‘Badhaai Do’.
