6 girls from Nagaland to represent India at World Sepaktakraw Championship in Thailand

The six girls are-- Sezovelu Dozo, Rukuvinu Tsukru, Menenu Tsukru, Seyiekhrieno Tepa, Jwensinle Kesen, and Akumtila Ao
Six girls from Nagaland would represent India at the World Sepaktakraw Championship-The 36th Kings Cup at Nakhon Ratchasima Province in Thailand.
The six girls are– Sezovelu Dozo, Rukuvinu Tsukru, Menenu Tsukru, Seyiekhrieno Tepa, Jwensinle Kesen, and Akumtila Ao.
They have been selected as members of the Indian team under the chief coach Hemraj.
The prestigious international event has began on July 8, 2023 and would be concluded on July 16, 2023. More than 700 players from 35 countries are participating in the championship.
This year’s championships feature the team event, regu, quadrants, and hoop, with categories for men, women, and mixed teams.
Apart from host Thailand and Malaysia countries participating in the championships include Indonesia, Iran, Sri Lanka, India Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei and Japan.
The Kings Cup Sepaktakraw World Championship is an annual Sepaktakraw team event and is considered as the most prestigious tournament in the sport.
The King’s Cup is dedicated to His Majesty the King of Thailand.
Advisor to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Abu Metha who is also the associate VP of Athletics Federation of India wished the girls luck for their event.
Taking to Twitter, Metha wrote, “Best wishes to all of them. We are so so proud of you. Make Nagaland Shine. Make India Proud. Strive towards Excellence.”
