A total of five persons have been arrested in connection with the land scam in Thoubal district’s Lilong where illegal structures had been built on land after the manipulation of documents and land pattas.
In a press conference in Imphal, ADG (Law & Order) Clay Khongsai said that the SDO Lilong had filed a complaint that the land record of 17-Chaobok sheet No 4 had been found manipulated and land pattas had been fraudulently prepared without any authority.
Following the investigation, three persons were arrested, who have been identified as Mohammad Alauddin, Mohammad Shah Daud Khan, and Th Nipamacha Singh.

The ADG (Law & Order) also said that the accused persons had been in collusion with some staff of the Lilong sub-division office where they reportedly fabricated 35 land pattas to private individuals and had also resulted in the loss of around 19 acres of forest land.
ADG Khongsai also said that the main government official behind the fabrication of documents was one Mohammad Nasimuddin.
Khongsai also said that Nasimuddin was arrested yesterday after he had been evading arrest for the last many days.
The arrested persons also include the then Supervision Kanungoo of the SDC Lilong.
